“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Schilpp, Alice Joy Bulban
“To you, O Lord, I lift my soul.” Ps. 25
While we mourn the loss, we celebrate the life of Alice Joy Bulban Schilpp. Born on February 28, 1947 in Bronx, New York, Joy was taken away from us unexpectedly on September 18, 2014. Joy was a devoted mother and grandmother for her 3 children and 3 grandchildren, a loving wife to her husband of 27 years, and an enduring friend. Joy loved good food and was a fabulous cook and entertainer. She also loved traveling, particularly to Santa Fe, Italy, and Northern Michigan. Joy was a spiritual and devout Catholic. Joy retired last year from Green Oaks Hospital where she worked as a psychiatric nurse for over 25 years.
Joy is survived by her husband Alex, her brother Peter and his family Jenny and Preston, her children and their spouses Paul and Liisa, Patricia and Jimmy, and Daniel and Joy; and three grandchildren, Austin, Isadora, and Evangeline.
The family will hold a memorial at Saint Monica Catholic Church in Dallas Thursday night, with a rosary at 6:30 and a mass at 7:00.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in Joy’s name to one of the following charities: Christ in the Desert Monastery in New Mexico, Catholic Relief Services, or Doctors without Borders.
Please send condolences to the family on this website.
