Macallan, Visitacion
Visitacion (Tita) MacAllan, 92, passed away November 15, 2014 at Heritage Gardens Nursing Home in Carrollton, Texas. She suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Websterville, Vermont, in 1922, the daughter of Hilario Ruiz and Josephine Ruiz Bigras. She was a graduate of Spalding High School in Barre, Vermont. She made her home in Phoenix, Arizona and in 1994, she moved to Texas. Tita was predeceased by her parents Hilario Ruiz and Josephine Ruiz Bigras, her husband and the love of her life, William MacAllan, her sister Amelia and her husband Albert Rousse, her sister Marie and her husband Lawrence Bylow, her brother-in-law Stanley Nelson, her dear niece Amy Hilferty, and her aunt Betty Gomez. Tita leaves her daughter Bonnie and her husband Larry Ratliff of Carrollton, Tx.; her grandchildren, William Ratliff and Whitney Ratliff; her sister Isabel Nelson of Lithia, Fl.; her sister Tillie and her husband Norman Beck of Barre, Vt.; her sister Michele and her husband Dick Lane of Sun City, Fl.; her uncle Cass Gomez of Okeechobee, Fl.; and her cousin Honorio (Nori) Vega of Santa Ana, Ca. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and their children. Tita started her banking career in Barre, Vermont before moving to Arizona. She worked for Thunderbird Bank in Phoenix, Arizona and managed the Beatitudes office. She retired after 25 years and moved to Carrollton, Texas to be closer to her daughter and family. She loved her banking family, her co-worker Cruz Savinon and all the people at the Beatitudes Thank you to the nurse’s aides and nurses at Heritage Gardens Nursing Home who genuinely cared for Tita. Thank you to Gentiva Hospice Care and their volunteers for being there for our family. We were very fortunate to know you all. Tita will be buried at Hope Cemetery in Barre, Vermont beside her husband William. A memorial fund has been established for Visitacion (Tita) MacAllan at alz.org or Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011. Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.
