Obituary of Hancock Jr., Thomas Wayne

Wayne was born July 22, 1920 to Naomi Rawls and Thomas Wayne Hancock.Ā  He was raised in East Texas, and then served as a Marine in World War II flying F4U Corsairs in the South Pacific. After the war Wayne attended SMU studying business, and then earned his Law Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife Doris were married in 1950, and lived in Dallas throughout their life together. Wayne was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and uncle who demonstrated his Christian faith to his family.Ā  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert Lesley and Edna Hancock.Ā  Wayne is survived by his wife Doris, his daughters Jan Wooldridge (Tom) and Jean Eye (Bob), as well as his grandsons Collin Eye (Michelle) and Riley Eye, step-granddaughter Melissa Wooldridge James (Rick), and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Graveside Services with military honors will beĀ on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:15 am at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. Memorials may be sent to: Highland Park United Methodist Church for Youth Mission Trips 3300 Mockingbird Lane Dallas, TX 75205 or to the charity of your choice. Please send the family condolences and/or share memories on this website.
