James, Alice
Alice James passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 5, 2015.
Alice was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee and came to Dallas in 1955. She and Bennett were married in 1956. They lived in Farmers Branch most of their life together except for a time spent after retirement in Telephone, Texas.Ā She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Berry, and her son, Bennett James, III, her five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Halverson, of Chattanooga, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.Ā
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett James, on September 16, 1995.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home,Ā 2710 Valley View Lane,Ā Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Ā The funeralĀ service will follow immediately after at 11:00 am.
Graveside services will be held in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, TX on Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm.

Much love and prayers to all of Granny’s family. Growing up across the street from her and her granddaughters was one of my greatest pleasures in childhood. I will always remember my last visit to her house and the way she said “Well bless her heart.” I will miss her and remember her with great fondness.

i met Alice at the first Fancy Fiber retreat and enjoyed her delightful company. She was a dear, sweet lady and I will remember her fondly. Prayers of comfort to Mary, Bennett and the rest of your family.
