Obituary of Thrasher, Larry

Larry Evans Thrasher, of Amarillo, Texas died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in Holden Hands Care Home after a long fight with Alzheimer Disease.  Born in Mississippi, December 26, 1933, to Everette and Allee Thrasher, Larry was a brilliant business man, owned and operated his own company, Larry Sign Company for over 50 years until he retired.  Larry was an amazing bowler and fisherman; he was the bowling champion for five years straight.  He was an avid outdoor adventurer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and trips to the lake.   If he wasn’t outside, Larry spent his days playing poker and dancing.    His greatest achievement was raising his beautiful daughter, Arlinda and love for his family.  He enjoyed his life to the fullest; living, loving and fighting like most do through both of his marriages with Sue and Vicki.  Larry was a phenomenal man and would give any amount of money to those in need.  He chose to live out his days in Amarillo, Texas for 60 years because he loved the people, his family and it was home for him.  Larry is survived by his daughter, Arlinda Thrasher McFarlane and her husband Jacob McFarlane and their four children, Nathan Alan Clark, his daughter Aubrey and sons Ethan and Riley, Heaven McFarlane Caraker and her husband Jim and their son Alex, Starla McFarlane and her husband Kendrick and their son Keenan, Joshua Evans McFarlane; and brothers Billy and Donald. The funeral and graveside services will be held at 10:00am July 2, 2015 at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses can be sent P.O. Box 632, Little Elm, TX, 75068. Thank you to Holden Hands Homecare, caregivers and hospice.   When Tomorrow Starts With Out Me, And I’m Not There To See, If The Sun Should Rise And Find Your Eyes, Filled With Tears For Me.  I Wish So Much You Wouldn’t Cry, The Way You Did Today, While Thinking Of The Many Things We Didn’t Get To Say.  I Know How Much You Love Me, As Much As I Love You, And Each Time You Think Of Me, I Know You’ll Miss Me Too.  When Tomorrow Starts Without Me, Don’t Think We’re Far Apart,  For Every Time You Think Of Me, I’m Right There In Your Heart. Please leave family condolences and share memories on this website.
