Obituary of
Crabtree, Edward Vance
Edward Vance Crabtree, 91 years young, resided in Coppell, Texas passed awayĀ peacefully at Sandy Lake Rehabilitation Center in Coppell in the early morning on January 9, 2016.
Known as Vance by his friends and family early in life and Ed later, he was born at home in St. Joseph, Missouri, November 14, 1924.
Ed is survived by his wife Louise Crabtree.Ā Ā Ā Four sons:Ā Mike Crabtree and his wife Donna of Coppell, TX; Terry Crabtree and his wife Mimi of Orlando, FL and Chicago, IL; Tim Crabtree and his wife Shelly of Howe, TX; Randy Crabtree of Dallas, TX; Daughter-in-law Doris Crabtree of Houston, TX; Step daughter:Ā Marsha Gall; Stepson:Ā Craig Bussey and his wife Shelly; as well as fourteen grandchildren and 7 great grand-children.
He was raised in Bethany, Missouri by his father Clarence and mother Edith. The second of five surviving children, his siblings were Vivian, Robert (Bob), Venita of Marshalltown, IA and Regena of Englewood, FL.
His life was shaped by love of family and the major world events of his time, the Great Depression and the Second World War. Hard work, fair play, steadfast loyalty, honesty, square dancing, the Methodist Church and love of family and friends were the hallmarks of his life.
He was married to his high school sweetheart Lucy Belle Cox for 50 years. Following her death he found the perfect life partner in Louise Bussey Crabtree, his beloved wife of 14 years.
Ed was preceded in death by his first wife Lucy Crabtree; son Ronald Vance Crabtree and his brother Robert Crabtree and sister Vivian Crabtree as well as his parents Clarence and Edith Woodward Crabtree.
Visitation will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane Dallas, TXĀ 75234 this Thursday,Ā January 14 from 6pm to 8pm.
Services to celebrate the life of Edward VanceĀ Crabtree will be held on Friday, January 15Ā at 1:00pm at WebbĀ Chapel United Methodist Church, 2536 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TXĀ 75234.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his honor to Webb Chapel United Methodist Church. 2536 Valley View Lane. Farmers Branch, TXĀ 75234.
