Lee Roy Carpenter, Jr. 77, beloved son, husband, father and friend was born in Denton, Texas on June 29, 1938 and passed away on January 26, 2016 from complications associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Lee Roy, Jr. was the cherished only child of Geraldine and Lee Roy Carpenter, Sr.  He was proceeded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years, Connie Carpenter in 2002; and his son, Brett Carpenter in 1986. Lee Roy, Jr. was a graduate of Sunset High School in 1956 and a proud Fighting Texas A&M Aggie.  He retired from American Airlines in 2004.  Lee Roy and his dad joined George B. Dealey Masonic Lodge in 1959.  He was a 56 year member of the Masonic Fraternity, including the Scottish Rite Valley of Dallas, Hella Shrine, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.  Lee Roy was a Past Patron of Farmers Branch Chapter #687, Past Watchman of North Star Shrine #2.  It was through his association with these organizations that he leaves hundreds of friends across the state of Texas who will fondly recall his wit and excessive use of the word dadgummit. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted caretaker and daughter, Shelley Walker and husband, James of Carrollton, TX;  his beloved aunt, Edith Faught of Benton, LA;  cousins, Rusty Faught of Shreveport, LA, Sue Oldham and husband, Perry of Oklahoma City, OK, Dana Cherry of Benton, LA, Martha Reynolds and husband, Robert of Fort Worth, TX.  He is also survived by two sons, Bryan Carpenter and Scott Carpenter. Shelley and James would like to thank the staff of Avalon Memory Care in Carrollton who provided love, attention, safety and peace of mind for the last seven months. Arrangements are under the direction of North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX  75234.  Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday January 31, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm; and a Celebration of Life service will be on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10:00 am,  both to be held in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Patriot Paws Service Dogs at 254 Ranch Trail Rockwall Texas or the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital at 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas 75219.
