Obituary of McFadden, Larry Dale

Larry Dale McFadden was born to Marion andĀ Kathrine (McConnell) McFadden on January 30, 1941 in Williamstown, Missouri.Ā Ā Ā Larry was resting peacefully at his home in Dallas, TexasĀ when heĀ was called to our Lord on May 28, 2016. Larry is survived by hisĀ wife, Donna McFadden,Ā son Larry McFadden Jr.,Ā daughters Misty Mitchell and KeeleyĀ McFadden, step-son David Summers, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Larry owned Apollo 21 Designs in Hair, a salon in the Uptown area of Dallas.Ā  He devoted his life toĀ being the best hair stylist he could be, and pursued training and competitions to hone his skills.Ā  Larry was the embodiment of the adageĀ that he loved what he did so completely that he trulyĀ never worked a day in his life, and prided himself on being the best at what he did.Ā Ā  Outside of work, he was an avid car enthusiast and loved Corvairs.Ā Ā He loved the martial arts and earned belts in various disciplines. He enjoyed billiards and pool, and was on multiple leagues.Ā  He was a seeker of knowledge, an avid gun enthusiast and proud NRA member, loved soccer, movies, music of all kinds, helping others, and wasĀ an amazing story-teller.Ā Ā Ā  Larry's larger than life persona was what he showed the world;Ā the lucky ones were invited beneathĀ the crust and found a Ā deeply spiritualĀ man who never let a friend be in need.Ā  Larry - you are loved and missed by all those you've touched.Ā Ā  Your incredible spirit,Ā imagination and generosity live on. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Memorial Donations may be made to the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

My condolence to Donna and the family. I have been a customer and friend of Larry’s for more than 40 years. I loved the discussions we had while he would cut my hair. Larry knew something about everything and was always willing to talk about anything. We didn’t always agree, but that’s what made it so interesting. I will miss Larry.

My deepest sympathy to Donna and the family. I’ll miss our conversations while getting my hair cut–they covered a lot of subjects. We ageed on a lot of things and agreed to disgree on others. He will be missed.
