Obituary of Ott, Robert Michael

Remembering Robert Michael “Bo” Ott won’t be hard for anyone. Bo left us to be with his mother on Friday, December 30, 2016. He was born August 16, 1963 to Larry and Linda Ott. He grew up the middle child with an older brother, Lawrence Ott and his younger sister, Pattie Ott-Burgess. His aunts, uncles and cousins in Oklahoma were especially dear to him. A special thank you to his Aunt Marlene and Uncle Damian Atha. The friendships that he made in Farmers Branch, Texas where he grew up have lasted decades. His quick wit would bring a smile and a laugh even if you were the butt of his jokes. Bo attended RL Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas and Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas where he was an accomplished baseball player. He spent countless hours with friends and family playing, coaching and watching baseball, softball, football, basketball and golf. His nieces, Lauren Ott, Alie and Aubrie Burgess, his nephews, Alan Ott, Adam and Avery Burgess and great nephews, Jacob and Grayson could count on his support and instruction in whatever they were involved in. He didn’t have children of his own, but Bo loved kids and this could be seen in the way that he interacted with and took care of all of those around him, neighbors, friends and family. His passing has left us all feeling many emotions pain, confusion, emptiness and maybe even anger at death coming to a young man of 53. Bo’s lasting impression has been forever stamped on those who knew him personally or met him briefly. Everyone will have their own special memory of the devoted son, wonderful brother, generous uncle and great friend with the larger than life personality. Bo will live on in the memories and stories that we share with each other today, tomorrow and for years to come. Join us in the celebration of Bo’s life, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, January 6, 2017 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

Like so many others I am truly saddened. Even sadder as I tend to let the newspapers stack up during the week and catch up on Saturdays, otherwise I would love to have attended Bo’s service. Going back to the CoMet days where I started my softball habit for the next 32 years, I played hundreds of games with Bo courtesy of Virgil & Linda, Larry, Vince, Lawrence, Kiddo, Joe, and all of the others. I love and miss all of you. Our thoughts and prayers, Chuck and Kim.
