Dub,

While I know that your comfort rests in the assurance that while Luke is now absent from his mortal body, he is face to face with God, I am sure that your grief, and that of your family, is uncomprehensable.

His passion for Christ is evident on his Facebook page, which mirrors beautifully the living testimony of Grace that I know he saw in your life. Without ever knowing him I can see how the light of Christ must have shown bright in his life on to others, which I know brought you much joy.

As I have nothing else to offer you that might assuage the pain that accompanies so great a loss, my prayer for you is that the ways that God may have used Luke to transform others for Christ might be slowly revealed to you over time, as a constant reminder of His grace & mercy and as a source of inspiration for you to run your race with endurance as you fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, despised the pain, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

May God comfort you in a way that surpasses all comprehension and may your grief be mixed with joy and hope, looking forward with comforting assurance to that day when you once again embrace Luke as you too stand in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

In Him, -Robert

Luke was a gentle soul. I have fond memories of him speaking to our Acteen group at our church and giving his testimony. Luke impacted many that night and much more than he realized. God gave Luke many special gifts and one was his caring friendship.
