I've known Dennis since 1972. He and my late husband, Ron Hitt, were partners in CID at the Farmers Branch Police Department. They were also partners in crime, both of them loving to play pranks on others. I've not seen him in a few years but we stayed in touch on Facebook. Dennis was larger than life, enjoying life to the fullest, and with a heart of gold. I will miss your craziness, Dennis. I'm sure though, that you are keeping all of Heaven entertained. Rest in peace, my friend.

Dennis was a friend from many years ago. I got to watch his house, take in his mail, mow his grass, and swim in his pool. All those years ago. He was a friend to my brother and to our family. He was my mentor in the FBPD Explorers.

I've know Dennis for all of my Life! He was my Dad's best friend. After my dad past away, I always knew that Dennis would be there for me and my brother and he was. I'm going to miss him checking in on me and making sure Paul and I are doing ok! I'm going to miss his stories about my dad. I am comforted in thinking he and my Dad are together, having that long overdue beer together! Cherie & all the kids, you guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dennis was a old school friend that I keep up with over the years. He was dedicated to his police work and later on in life to his support against child abuse. He will be missed by many. May the Lord be with his family at this time.

I only met Dennis a few times at Presley Promise, but consider Brian a dear friend. Brian is one of the most unbelievably kindest and sincere men I know. I have heard that the apple didn't fall far from the tree. RIP Dennis I know you will be missed.

When I became a full time police officer back in early 1980 Dennis was my first chief. He was always quite a character, story teller, trick player but most of all he was a great boss and friend. I am a much better person in my life and career due to knowing him. You'll be missed Dennis, that I have no doubt!!

He was a stature of a man. Big and strong with a heart of honey. Will miss that gruff laugh and his stories (mostly through facebook over the past few years).
My condolences to the kids (as you will always be in daddy's eyes), Cherie and the rest of the family along with his BACA family.
