Obituary of Wise-garver, Eleanor May (Strowbridge)

Eleanor May (Strowbridge) Wise-garver of Richardson, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her sonsĀ on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the age of 100 years young.Ā  She was born in Port Arthur, Texas November 21, 1916 to Frederick John and May Willse Strowbridge. EleanorĀ graduated from Texas State Teachers College in Nacogdoches, Texas. She married Gerald Wise-garver in 1940. The couple had three sons, Dr. Frederick Wise-garver, Dr. Richard Wise-garver and David Wise-garver. The family moved from Houston, Texas to Prairie Village, Kansas in 1953 and remained until 1972 when they moved to Dallas, Texas.Ā  Eleanor and Gerald became members of the First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, Texas. She loved to travel and enjoyed playing golf for 60 years up to the age of 99. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, and her sister, Jane Fraser. She is survived by her children, Frederick, Richard and David (Margie); grandchildren, Lauren Wise-garver and Eric Wise-garver; and by her brother, Frederick Strowbridge (Lou). The family wishes to thank her friends and neighbors for many years of support and kindness. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, SeptemberĀ 8, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, 271 Walton Street. Richardson, Texas. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to a Harvey Relief Fund. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

    I have known Eleanor since 1995 when I moved next door to her. I have many many fond memories of her. We had many laughs sitting talking about many different things. She was a wonderful person and I will miss having her as a neighbor and a friend.
