Obituary of
Elkins, Charlie Hoyt
Charlie Hoyt Elkins, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at home with his family in Carrollton, Texas. He was born June 22, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. Charlie's parents were Earl C. Elkins and Ova Mae Elkins which resided in Lewisville, Texas.
He proudly served in the United States Army. Charlie worked for 22 years as an assistant manager at the Dallas Times Herald mail room; when the Herald closed he worked for KPT for over 10 years. He began working for Ricoh as a regional manager, managing several locations for Verizon. He retired in 2012; when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Marty L. Elkins; daughter, Zell Renee Smith; grandson, Zachary Smith; brothers, Don and Bill Elkins both of Dallas, Texas, Zell Graham of Farmers Branch, Texas; Debra Ward of Houston, Texas, and Armenda Ward of Lewisville, Texas.
He had a love for golf playing every weekend with good friends. When he was younger Charlie and his family spent a lot of time boating, camping and skiing.
Family will be receiving visitors on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
Celebration of Life services will be on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Brooks Family Chapel.
Interment will follow the service at Myrtle Springs Cemetery, Quitman, Texas.

Charlie was my manager at Ricoh. He was truly a great manager as well as a human being. I will always love and cherish each and every moment that I was in his presence. My condolences to you all. Please know earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal…be Blessed.

Marty and the Elkins family; So sorry to hear this happened to Charlie. He & I played golf and worked together, along with his brothers Billy and Don for about 30 years. He was a great guy and I was truly sad to hear that this has happened. Our prayers are for your family’s comfort.
