My heart is broken. John rides his bike nearly every day right down my street, just saw him recently. When he lost Buster, his devoted Border Collie, he had him cremated and John told me that when he (John) passes, the box containing Buster’s remains will be placed right beside him in his coffin. Those two were a united team like I have never seen before. I think John was 89, he still did the occasional roofing jobs. John lived every day like it was his last, he was always smiling and cracking jokes. An honor to have John as a friend.

I sure am going to miss you John, such a kind hearted man. I don’t know how many times, he came to my rescue and ended up “saving the day”. From making wasp nest hidden behind mailbox disappear, from getting his pliers out to help free a dog stuck to metal, checking the roof and awning and fixing little leaks, to climbing way up high on his ladder even last year to seal an opening on a wood piece, in fact I told him to act like a model so I could get some snap shots of him on the ladder… Haha and he did. Oh John and the bike, amazing the last time I got on a bike I had to have someone on both sides of me so I wouldn’t fall over. He really did like brownies, anything home cooked, and something as simple as hot water with fresh squeezed lemon and a squish off honey. I will miss you John, I will keep the vision from time to time when I look out the front door of you there you, your truck, a lawn mower, Buster, a stick,, the bike, the chit chats, and that Beautiful smile. Next, I look at my roof, I for sure will be thinking of you climbing the tallest ladder ever that took you straight to heaven.
    Love you,
    Kathleen

You will be missed so much in the community. You always made my day brighter when you stopped to visit for awhile and made me smile even when I didn’t want to on a bad day.I know you are in God’s hands now and loved in heaven as much as you were here in our little neighborhood.

So sad to hear about the passing of John. Our neighborhood will not be the same without him. John always had a treat for my dog anytime we saw him. He also would bring up our trash cans every week for us. We need more people like John in this world. Rest in peace sweet man.

What can I say about this precious man other than everyone he ever met loved and adored him. I have known John for many years. He always stopped and talked to you when he walked his dog Buster. He always checked our roofs on our homes for leaks after a bad storm and refused to take money for it. Soooo … all the women cooked for him. And he loved it. He always wrote a thank you to us when we dropped off our goodies for him to eat. And he made a steal on Thanksgiving! LOL. He was a precious precious man and will be dearly missed in our community. Rest peacefully John and enjoy eternity with your sweet wife.
