Obituary of Hunt, Charles Elmore

Charles Elmore Hunt, 86, of Farmers Branch, Texas for 48 years recently located to Frisco, Texas, died on October 19, 2017.  Charles was a loving husband, father and papa. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn Hunt; son and daughter-in-law; Timothy and Yvette Hunt; grandchildren, Jennifer Hunt, Amanda and Dallas Long.  Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson M. and Newtie Hunt and his sister, Jean Holmes. After graduating from Central High School in Manchester, TN. Charles joined the U.S. Air Force in 1948.  During his 21 years he spent three and half years as an instructor in the Aircraft & Engine Mechanic School at Sheppard AFB in Amarillo, Texas.  It was in Amarillo he married his best friend and soulmate, Carolyn, on May 30, 1952.  Charles spent time in Korea, Lubbock, Utah and England during his time of service to our country.  Retiring from the Air Force in 1969 Charles earned his BA from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1977 and spent the next 33 years working at Richland College.  He retired from Richland College February, 2010. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church Farmers Branch since 1969, serving as Sunday School Secretary and Handyman.  His smile, laughter and sense of humor will live on, as that is what was so special about him. The visitation and viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas  75234. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch, 13017 William Dodson Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas  75234. Charles will be placed at rest, with military honors, at 1:00 pm at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.
