Adedeji, Stella Arinola (Olaiya)
Mrs. Stella Arinola Adedeji was born on September 4, 1949 to late Mrs. Victoria Jaiyeola Olaiya and late Mr. Elijah Ogunyemi Olaiya in Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. She was the second of four children.Ā Ā She grew up in Ikole-Ekiti where she completed her primary and secondary school education at the St. Peters Anglican Primary school and St. Michael Secondary School respectively. She then proceeded to Maria Assumpta School of Midwifery Ado-Ekiti, where she obtained a midwifery degree. To advance her career, she obtained a Registered Nurse degree from the School of Nursing, Eleyele, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. She flourished in her nursing career, rising to the position of Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at the Ring Road State Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. After an early retirement in Nigeria, she travelled to the United Kingdom in 2003, where she continued to work as a Registered Nurse in Leeds, England. She returned briefly to Nigeria in 2008 and visited the US often to spend time with her children and grandchildren. From 2013 until her demise on December 19, 2017, she spent more time in the US and visited Nigeria occasionally. Stella AdedejiĀ was married to Dr. Edward Ademola Adedeji in 1975 and the marriage was blessed with four children, three females and one male. She is survived by her husband - Dr. Edward Ademola Adedeji; her children - Mrs. Adenike Akinboro, Mr. Akinkunmi Adedeji, Mrs. Odunlade Olalere, and Mrs. Abiola Ladipo; sons-in-law: Mr. Kunle Akinboro, Dr. Abiodun Olalere, and Mr. Olakunle Ladipo; daughter-in-law: Mrs. Olamide Adedeji; Grandchildren: Oluwagbemiro Akinboro, Araoluwa Akinboro, Foyinkemi Olalere and Timilehin Olalere; Siblings: Rev. Olabisi Olaiya, Mrs Olusola Ojo, and Mrs Ebunlomo Adepoju; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs Stella Adedeji will be laid to rest on December 29, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home located at 1600 S. Garland Avenue, Garland TX 75040. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
