“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Kramer, Dmitry
Dmitry Zayvel Kramer, 85, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at home in Carrollton, Texas, following a long-term illness. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Maya Kramer; his daughter, Stella Belsky; his granddaughter, Eugenia Rauscher; two great-grandchildren; a nephew and a niece; and many close friends. Dmitry was born on April 1, 1932, in Kiev, Ukraine (former U.S.S.R.). He immigrated to the United States in 1991 to join his daughter and her family. A Jewish man born in the Soviet Union, Dmitry had several Jewish names but had to change them to “Dmitry” just for his daughter not to have a middle name too Jewish in an anti-Semitic society. A lover of life, coffee, movies, and family, Dmitry had a life well-lived, well-traveled, and well-loved. He was a man who always dreamed about shooting the movies on a professional level, but had to settle on a different career just to support his family. He was a man who played a badminton and was very good at it. He was a man who was a good skier and conquered many hills. He was a man who loved his friends and spent many hours preparing skits, posters, and organizing birthday. He was a man who had a great sense of humor and always made everyone laugh. He was a man who worshiped his wife and did anything in his power to make her happy. Dmitry is preceded in death by his father, Zayvel Kramer; his mother, Rebecca Kramer; his sister, Lucy Grinberg; his mother-in-law, Eugenia Kalmanovich; and his son-in-law, Peter Belsky. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, Texas 75225. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
