Johnston, James William
James William Johnston, also known as “JW”, age 81, of Carrollton, Texas passed away on January 2, 2018 in Plano, Texas. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend to those that knew and loved him. James was born on August 11, 1936 in Pontiac, Michigan to Agnes Schwabe. He grew up in Commerce township Michigan and was brother to Virginia Champion and Earnie Champion who ultimately raised James. He had a brother Jack Johnston. James graduated from Walled Lake Central High School. He then served our country in The United States Army and spent time in Germany. After returning from the army he met and married Katherine Hart and had 5 children; David Johnston, Steven Michael Johnston, Diane Johnston Rabin, Adam Johnston and Keith Johnston. James spent most of his professional career in the plumbing and contracting business. He buit two of his own residences; of which he was very proud. His witty, kind, and gallant personality endeared him to everyone he met. His loving kind heart will forever be remembered James is survived by his 5 children; son, David and wife, Anjali Johnston, son, Mike and wife, Sally, daughter, Diane and husband, Elliott Rabin, son, Adam Johnston, son, Keith Johnston; and grandchildren Max , Jack, and Emma. Viewing will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 9 2018 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Graveside service, with military honors will be at 12:30 pm at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
