Obituary of Graves, Rose Mary (Atilano)

Rose Mary (Atilano) Graves, age 65, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, in Carrollton, Texas. She was born on April 13, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her only child, Vanessa Frutosa Warren, who passed away on December 12, 2012 at age 40.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jeffery Neal Graves; her granddaughter, Jessica Cardenas; her grandson, Julian Cardenas; her great granddaughters Gianna Gotelli and Lyla Calles; sisters Esther Padilla, Delores Hernandes, and Natalie Sible; brothers Louis Atilano Jr., Joe Atilano, Chris Atilano, and Michael Atilano.

Rose grew up in Dallas in where she graduated from North Dallas High School in 1970. Rose went on to establish an administrative career in at Thorsen Tool Company where she met the love her life and best friend, Jeff, and on March 18, 1983 they married. They purchased their first home in Carrollton, where they remained residents for 35 years.

She took much pride in her Human Resources position at Flextronics where she was very involved with the Employee Activity Committee. Rose loved many things, including spending time with family, caring for her pets, decorating, gardening, photography, watching hummingbirds, sports games, and horror movies. The highlight of her life was caring for her great grandchildren, Gianna and Lyla.  She was a very generous, brave, and strong woman, who devoted her life to caring for her loved ones. Her philosophy was, “Your family needs you, so work hard, be nice, fair, and honest. Make life interesting. Don’t be boring. Always keep busy and enjoy life!” She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and selfless spirit. Rose will deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to know and love her.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 beginning at 9:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3811 Oak Lawn Avenue, Texas 75219. Funeral Mass will begin following the visitation at 10:00 am also at the church. There will be a procession following the services to Forest Lawn Cemetery, 10977 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75220 where Rose Mary will be laid to rest.
