Vrooman, LtCol, Donald Gene
Donald Gene Vrooman (Retired) Lt. Col. USMC of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Saturday,Ā 3 February 2018 at the age of 62.
He retired after 28 years comissioned service.Ā Proud to have been an Officer of Marines from 9 April 1979 to 1 September 2007.Ā "Who more than self his country loved"
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, 16 February 2018 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
A procession will follow the funeral services going to DFW National Cemetery were Lt. Col. Vrooman will receive military honorsĀ and beĀ laid to rest at 12:30 pm.

Thank you for your service Don. And thank you for your friendship over the years. I’ll never forget your hilarious ‘navel salute’. You set a fine personal example as a Marine, Father, and breadwinner. The photos you sent from Japan and all the other countries were inspirational. It’s a special person who can joke about life’s ironies. The days went by too quickly for you. Gone but never forgotten.
