Slavens, Kris Ann (Bruck)

Kris Ann (Bruck) Slavens of Mesquite, Texas born on September 17, 1958, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 59, from early onset dementia, while surrounded by loved ones.

Kris graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1977.  She was very passionate about her family and had a great love of music.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Doug Slavens; their two daughters, Jaclyn Slavens and Kimberly Slavens Ochoa; two grandchildren, Jacson and Gage; mother, Marlene Allen; sister, Kelly Talbot; brother, Ken Bruck; and many other family and friends.

The celebration of Kris’s life will be celebrated in the spring with details TBD.

i was shocked to hear about kris. my memories of her are her laughter. kris has a remarkable sense of humor. i remember riding in doug's white volkswagon when kris and i would skip 4th period our senior year. i am so sorry to her about her. she will be remembered. my thoughts are with her family....

I am stunned to hear this news. I am so sorry. I watched Dub suffer from this and my grandmother also. It is a terrible thing to watch. My prayers are with you.

Family and Friends, I will miss my sweet sister and know time with help with the pain of losing her at such a young age. Kris does not have to endure the nightmare of living with Dementia any longer. Stay close to her husband and daughters. Love, Kelly
