Smith, Wade Timothy

Wade Timothy Smith, 50, of McKinney, Texas passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Wade was born August 26, 1967 and grew up in Canton, OK. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, played saxophone and was drum major for the high school band.  Wade graduated 1985 from Canton High School and attended NWOSU where he was drum major for the university band. He graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

Wade realized his dream to become a Dallas police officer when he graduated the academy in 1990. Over the next ten years of service he received numerous commendations for valor in the line of duty.

In 1999 he met Leona Sue Sullivan and they were inseparable.  They made their home in McKinney, Texas.

Wade is survived by his common-law wife Leona Sue; his son, Tanner Wade; his mother, Lynn and husband Roland Boudreau; sisters Valerie King and husband Robert: Ashli Schiska and fiancé Dan; aunt Deborah Letcher; many loving friends and extended family.  He was pre-deceased by his biological mother Barbara Haynes; adoptive father Bruce Smith; step-father Edward Schiska; grandparents Roberts and Smith.

Wade will always be remembered by his infectious humor and courageous spirit.
