Obituary of
Wright, Elliot Everett
Elliot Everett Wright (May 17, 1992 – August 5, 2018) passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident last weekend at the age of 26.
He was a fiercely beloved son, grandson, nephew and friend. He attended the Booker T. Washington School for the Performing Arts, and graduated from the University of Toronto in June 2015 with a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance. After a brief tenure as a freelance music critic, publishing in the Dallas Observer and other periodicals, he began his career in IT with Global Payments, Inc, where he was a rising star, and chosen to attend Google conferences in New York and San Francisco. Elliot boasted a keen intellect, and was passionate about a host of subjects ranging from French to Japanese literature, film and philosophy. He had a refreshing and subversive wit, an ingratiating smile, and a quiet but pervasive generosity of spirit.
He is survived by his mother, Elaine Gantz Wright, his father Max Wright, and his brother Ian Cushing Wright, along with a loving, extended family who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A service in his memory will be held in the main sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church at 1835 Young Street in Dallas on Sunday, August 12th at 3pm.
Donations in Elliot’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Developmental Day School Scholarship Fund or the cause of your choice.
Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
