Wanda Yvonne (Young) Mizell of Duncanville, Texas passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the age of 69. She was born July 5, 1949, to Wesley Cecil Young, a small business owner, and Lois Waggoner, a school teacher. Yvonne was raised in Sonora. She attended St John’s Episcopal Church and graduated from Sonora High School. Afterwards she attended St. Mary’s Business School in San Antonio. There, she met her first husband Eduardo Ramirez with whom she had two children, Wesley and Tanya. Yvonne worked in various professions, including real estate, the US Census Bureau, Texas Instruments and Tyler Police Department. She volunteered as a band mom while in Troup Texas. Yvonne was a member of the Lions Club in Duncanville, Texas. She preformed various duties volunteering her time and resources helping others in her community. Later on, Yvonne met her second husband Earl T. Mizell. They loved to travel and explore all over the United States. She went from the glaciers in Alaska to fall foliage in Maine all the way to the beaches of Hawaii. Yvonne was an avid philanthropist; she was always kind and made sure people felt welcomed. She believed in the Lord and loved to pray, also loved spending time with her family and friends. Yvonne lived life to the fullest and never said no to an adventure. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl T Mizell, parents Wesley Young and Lois Waggoner and sister Cecilia “Cissy” Nevill. She is survived by her son Wesley Ramirez and wife Susan daughter Tanya Fleming, sister Jetty Davis and grandchildren Cameron Fleming, Cecilia, Elyse and Lillie Ramirez. A memorial will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at 421 Custer Rd., Richardson, Texas.
