Dowd, Roberta (Robbie) Lee (Kuhne)
Roberta Kuhne Dowd, age 94, of McKinney, Texas went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2018. Robbie was born in Shattuck, Oklahoma on August 4, 1924 to Boardetta (Brink) and Robert Lincoln Kuhne, their first child. She lived in Hugo, Enid, Shawnee, Norman and Ada, Oklahoma and McKinney, Texas. She graduated from Hugo High School and Oklahoma University. She was introduced to the love of her life, John, by her sister, Betty, and her fiancé, Fred Sawyer. Robbie and John were married on June 4, 1949 in McKinney, Texas and were devoted to each other for almost 65 years. They lived in Kansas City, Missouri as well as Ft. Collins and Denver, Colorado before settling in Amarillo, Texas, where they lived for 35 years. Robbie and John had one child, Debra (Debbie) Ann Dowd. Robbie and John owned small businesses, then she became a realtor. She was quite successful, making the Million Dollar Club in Amarillo in 1988. She retired in 1989 and she and John moved to McKinney to be closer to family. She delighted in playing bridge and was very competitive. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and the color pink. Robbie loved Jesus and never met a stranger. She ministered to many with her beautiful smile and cheerfulness. Robbie was a committed member of her church, Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco and its Marathon Class. Robbie completed her 94 year-long life on earth on October 21, 2018 and is now enjoying her new life in her resurrection body with her God, her Savior, and her beloved John. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Miller and her husband, Mark of Allen, Texas, grandchildren, Megan Miller Jennings and husband Nathan of Nashville, Tennessee, Marcus John Miller and wife Anna of Plano, Texas, Andrew Robert Miller and wife Monica of Dallas, Texas and Austin David Miller of Richardson, Texas. She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren, Aiden Grace Schamberger, Brody Reece Jennings and Jude Wyatt Miller, her sister, Betty Sawyer Hitchings of McKinney, Texas and brother, Robert M. Kuhne and wife Joan of Richardson, Texas. The celebration of Robbie’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, October 26, 2018 at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco.
