Obituary of Hanna, Ronnie R.

Ronnie Roy Hanna went to be with his Lord on October 26, 2012 at the age of 78 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born on November 23, 1933 to Roy Hanna and Velma Ruth Cunningham Hanna in Amarillo, TX. After graduating from Ozark Bible College and Cincinnati Bible Seminary, he had ministries in Chouteau, OK, Terre Haute, IN, Dallas, TX, Garland, TX and most recently in Montrose, CO where he served for 25 years. He also served in the positions of Professor, Academic Dean and Vice President of Dallas Christian College in Dallas, TX for 18 year. In 2007, he retired from the ministry and moved with his wife Janet to their current home in Aubrey, TX. Ronnie spent his life serving God and ministering to and serving others. He had a profound effect on the lives of many. Most recently, Ronnie attended Cornerstone Christian Church where he also served as an elder. Ronnie is preceded in death by his father, Roy Hanna, mother, Velma Ruth Cunningham Hanna, and his first wife, Marlene Hanna. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Janet Hanna, sister Rosemary Petty and her husband Larry of Boyd, TX, along with his three children, Cindy MacFarlane of Carrollton, TX, Mark Hanna and wife Kimberly of Riverside, CA and David Hanna and his wife Cathy of Grapevine, TX . In addition, he had seven grandchildren, Melanie and Mallory MacFarlane, Ciara, Krystal and Dalton Hanna, and Stephanie and Tim Peterson. Visitation and viewing will be Monday, October 29,2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Dallas Christian College in the Banquet Hall at 2700 Christian Parkway Dallas, TX 75234 (972) 241-3371. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 30 at 11:00 am at Cornerstone Christian Church in Dallas Christian College Gymnasium at 2700 Christian Parkway, Dallas, TX 75234 with Rev. Ron Key and President Dusty Rubeck officiating. Interment following at Restland Memorial Park Cemetary, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund has been set up at Dallas Christian College. Checks should be made payable to and mailed to Dallas Christian College and noted for the Ronnie Hanna Memorial Fund. Please send the family condolences and sign the guest book on this site.
