Obituary

Bob Ahrens, beloved husband, dad,grandpa, brother, uncle, friend,went to be with his passed away on February 19, 2011. He was born October 20, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan to Edwin and Elsie Randall Ahrens.Bob graduated from Alliance HighSchool in Alliance, Ohio, attendedWest Virginia University andearned a B.S. in Civil Engineeringfrom Case Institute of Technologyin Cleveland, Ohio. He furtheredhis education by obtaining a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Bob served two seperate terms of service in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after serving in the Korean Conflict.At retirement he was a partner with Associated Consulting Engineers in Dallas.Bob is survived by wife, Mary Helen Coats Ahrens; son, Brian Ahrens; daughter, Sharon Ahrens Fannin and husband, Eric; grandsons, Mason and Drew Fannin; sisters, Ruth Allison and Betty Pool, both of Alliance, Ohio, and many other loving family members.He has been a member of RoyalHaven Baptist Church since 1967.Visitation will be Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 6-8pm at NorthDallas Funeral Home, 2710 ValleyView Lane, Farmers Branch, Tx75234. Funeral services will beThursday, February 24, 2011 at10:00 am at the funeral home.Interment will be Friday, 2:00pm February 25, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nacogdoches County. A visitation will precede the burial at 1:00pm at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches County.
