Obituary

Gerardo Alvarez, beloved father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend passed away to his eternal home on October the 24th, 2019. He will be sorely missed by everyone that encountered him and his desire towards a better life despite adversity will always be admired by his family and friends.Gerardo Alvarez was born on December 23rd, 1959 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to parents Mauricia Delgado and Francisco Alvarez. After 17 years of living in Mexico, he joined his family in the United States, and made many significant friendships along the way. He gained his U.S. Citizenship in 1992, of which he was very proud of achieving.He returned back to Mexico and found the love of his life, Juanita in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. They were wed in 1988, and had 3 children together. Juanita remained his forever love until his passing.Gerardos various interests included a lifelong affinity for the sport of bodybuilding, training in his younger years and taking pride in his efforts towards the sport. He would recount times training with bodybuilding greats and enjoyed learning more about the sport. He loved music, prizing his record collection and various 8-tracks tapes with a myriad of artists from Leo Dan, Rondallas de Saltillo, and other notable artists.With this affinity for bodybuilding, one of his favorite meals was a steak dinner throughout his life, and he enjoyed cooking for his son Christopher for him to grow big and strong.Gerardo enjoyed a lengthy career in the field of hospitality, focusing on hotels and worked at many notable hotels in the DFW area. Through his career in hotels, he was able to meet many prominent figures and enjoyed providing people and friends a smile, a laugh or a helping hand whenever needed. He was a dedicated worker and his work ethic and skill were well known to all who encountered him.Gerardo was a man of faith and had a steadfast dedication to God. His faith provided him the strength, hope and solace he needed in his life. He had boundless hope for a better life ahead of him through the strength of his faith and conviction towards God.Gerardo loved his family, his three children, Caroline, Catherine and Christopher, and the mother of his children Juanita. His most recent love is that for his grandson, Levi, who is five. His love for his family was immense and he will be truly missed.Gerardos passing leaves us all with a heavy heart, but may he be at peace and may he be granted a happy eternal life full of love and fulfillment with the passed away above.Gerardo is preceded in death by his father, mother and brother: Francisco Alvarez, Mauricia Delgado Alvarez and Pedro Pablo Alvarez.Gerardo is survived by his beloved children, Caroline, Catherine and Christopher.
