Obituary

Ann Bysfield Sudduth (1939-2024)

Ann Bysfield Sudduth, 85, of Addison, Texas passed away on September 5th, 2024.

Born in Columbia, Missouri, on February 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Frank Edmund

Bysfield & Harriett Huff.

Ann married the love of her life, Charles Norton Sudduth, on February 6, 1960. The two met at Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri.

Ann graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Distinction. She was a member of the Honors Society Phi Kappa Phi. She furthered her education by accumulating 20 hours of graduate study at U.M.K.C.

After graduation, Ann's passion for community, education, and technology led her to a career of assisting others through her different positions. Ann was a Director of Valley Hope, an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Out-Patient Center. She was a District Manager for Xerox Company and presided over the Employee Assistance Program. In 1982, she started her own company, Sudduth Associates, a consulting firm that audited Employee Assistance Programs and set up computer-based Management Information Systems. She owned the RightForm Company, where she developed and published database information products. She served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for Addison from 1990-1994. In 1993, she was recognized by the community as "Addison Woman of the Year." In May of 1995, she was elected to a two-year term on the City Council. Lastly, Ann went on to serve at Holy Trinity Catholic School as a Technology Consultant and was an Education and Technology Consultant for the Austin Catholic Diocese. Due to her passion, she did not fully retire until 2022.

Ann loved traveling with Charles throughout the United States. She developed an "eye" for art through her travels and collected many beautiful pieces. She was an avid reader and was a part of several book clubs. She enjoyed technology and the ongoing development of it. She was sometimes lovingly known as the spreadsheet expert. Ann had a fun spirit, which her crazy, unique sock collection could see. Most of all, Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. However, her dedication to God was first and foremost.

Ann was predeceased in death by her Husband, Charles N. Sudduth; Son, David Frank Sudduth; Father, Edmund Bysfield; Mother, Harriet Huff; Sister, Eleanor Kendrick; Stepmother, Wanda Bysfield; Aunt, Eleanor Lipscomb; Father-in-law William Sudduth; Mother-in-law: Louise Sudduth.

Ann is survived by her brother, Frank Bysfield, half-sister Evelyn Peters, half-brother Alan Bysfield; her children, Charles Jr. (Donna), Jim (Laura), and Tom (Pam); her 10 grandchildren: Tina (Todd), Charlie lll (Jackie), Kacie, Allie, Daniel, Heather (James), Addyson, Jackson, Kelly , and Stacey; her ten great-grandchildren: Tommy, Kylee, Aubree, Levi, Luke, Logan, Harper, Kennedy, Trenton, and Maci, and many loving cousins.
