Anna Lois
Parks
June 15, 1930 – April 19, 2024
Anna Lois Parks, 93 yrs old, beloved sister and aunt passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024 in the arms of nephew and niece, Jim and Terri Porter. Known for her compassion and humor, Lois will be missed by family and friends alike.
A native Texan, Lois was born in Smithville to Ernest and Annie Sawyer on June 15, 1930. She was preceded in death by sister Wilma Sawyer Porter and brothers Tom Sawyer, Bob Sawyer, and Ralston Sawyer. Lois is survived by her sister, Betty Sawyer Braud, who lives in California with her daughter, Glenna, and family. Lois lived most of her adult years in Dallas, Texas working for and retiring from Southwestern Bell/AT&T. She will be buried in Smithville, TX.
Lois' family, especially Betty, recalls many moments with Lois over the years, all filled with laughter and joy. A strong and independent woman, Lois was known for epic one-liners and was a bright light in any gathering. Her jokes certainly caught the attention of many and still bring us laughter today. Lois was known for her random acts of kindness to many that were in need. She enjoyed reading and discussing the Bible with her nephew Jim, and we know she is now with Jesus.
Sister Betty, cousins Jim and Terri Porter, Glenna Gates and Mark Petersen, Jim Braud, Brenda Sawyer, and Neal Mills plan a family event in Lois' honor this summer.
The family will be forever grateful for the kindness and superlative care that was provided to Lois by the loving caregivers at Sonoma House, with special thank you to Samantha, Eva, Tara and Tammy. Lois loved all of you!
