Obituary for Anthony Anderson
Anthony "Tony" Anderson, 76, of Farmers Branch, TX passed away Tuesday, September 10th at his home in Farmers Branch. He was the son of the late Paul and Rose Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Anderson of Farmers Branch; his sister and brother Lisa Anderson and Scott Anderson of Tennessee; his children Kristi Anderson Campanella of Colorado, Chad Anderson (Amy) of Georgia and Alison Anderson Teague (Jerry) of Iowa; his grandchildren Grace Anderson and Jay Anderson of Georgia; his niece Holly Price of Tennessee; his nieces McKinsey Massey Conk wright and Lauren Massey Cook of Tennessee; his nieces Myca Craven and Brooke Hollingsworth; his niece and nephew Sean and Lynn Garnett, and many other great nieces and nephews and special friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Massey Anderson and his sister, Sue Anderson Garnett.
Tony was born in Vincennes, Indiana and moved to Texas early in his life. He attended the University of Houston and graduated with a bachelor's degree at age 19 and began working for NASA. He helped design and build the flight simulators in which astronauts trained for the mission to the moon and was present in the second auditorium of Mission Control in July 1969 when man first went to the moon. He later moved to Tennessee and began working for Tennessee Valley Authority from which he retired after 26 years.
Tony was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, watching football, reading and learning about history, playing games, and attending Harry Potter readings each week with his daughter. He also enjoyed building things and even built a ski boat when he was younger that he used for fun family outings in Texas and Tennessee. He loved his family very much. He was intelligent, funny, and extremely generous, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
