July 28, 1932 - March 6, 2014William (Bill) Patterson Atkinson II, of Lewisville, TX went to be with the passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014.He was born on July 28, 1932 in Landsdowne, Pennsylvania to Cedric and Eleanor Atkinson. He was 81 years old.His namesake came from his grandfather who wrote the book "The Short-Story" which was originally published in 1916.He received a Bachelor Degree from University of Delaware . Then moved to New Jersey and attended an accounting course at Rutger's University. He also owned a Real Estate Agency called Landmark Reality and dabbled in that for a bit. Later he worked at S. Haydu & Sons in Newark, NJ as a Credit Manager. But, his real passion was painting the interior and exteriors of homes. He was very meticulous and took great pride in his work.He was active in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and then was a Webelos Leader for a year. Some fun things he enjoyed was playing tennis, camping and just being outdoors, including taking walks everyday around his neighborhood. He really loved to sing and always belonged to a chorus or sing-a-long groups where-ever he was living.He moved to Lewisville, Texas in 1994 to be closer to his grown children and grandchildren. He joined AARP and was active on the board as the Membership Director and Treasurer. He was part of Sing-A-Long at the Lewisville Senior Center. He attended the First Methodist Church of Lewisville.Bill is survived by his sons, Don Atkinson and Will Atkinson III; daughter Dawn and her husband David Buie. His grandchildren; Brittany, Victoria and Joshua. And a great grandson named Branson. He is also survived by his children's Mother Lorraine Trimmer of Highland Village, TX.The family plans to have a private memorial service at a later time.
