Obituary

MARJORIE ANN BLEVINS BAGG passed away on March 4, 2013 in Dallas, TX. She was born to Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Oliver Blevins on April 20, 1930 in Hinsdale, IL. She attended Hinsdale High School and later graduated from University of Illinois with a BS in Education and was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. After doing graduate work at Northwestern University, Marjorie taught school in the Hinsdale School District before marrying Donald James Bagg, a commodities broker, in Chicago, IL in 1955. The couple moved to Dallas where Donald was Vice President of Sales for Texas Meat Packers, Inc and later founded Republic Foods, Inc. They lived in Highland Park, raising three boys and were active members of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Marjorie was a volunteer in their library and taught Sunday school . She was also a teacher's aide at Fannin School in Dallas. Marjorie had been an active member of several civic organizations including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League Board, the Dallas Opera Guild, the Dallas Civic Ballet, and the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary. In addition, Marjorie joined the Dallas Womans Club and enjoyed her bible study group along with her garden, bridge, sewing and book clubs. She is survived by her sons Peter Blevins Bagg and wife Peggy Schmitz, Michael James Bagg, and David Sheldon Bagg, all of Dallas. Her cremated remains will be joined with her husband of 57 years at the columbarium of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church. In lieu of a memorial service, the family has requested that friends may make a donation to their charity of choice. Please send the family condolences and sign the guest book on this site.
