Obituary

Wilma Jean Yockey Ball, 81 years old, of Dallas, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013. Services will be Friday, December 20th, 2013 at North Dallas Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Barker and Mike Russell officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday December 23rd, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.She was born on October 29, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas and lived there until age 4. She and her parents traveled throughout West Texas and settled in Odessa when Wilma was 12. She went to high school at Odessa High School. Following high school, she went to Hardin Simmons and then on to the University of North Texas where she majored in clothing & design. At North Texas is where she met Alvin P. Ball and they were married April 13, 1957 in Denton, Texas. She attended many art classes over the years including classes at the Senior Center of Farmers Branch. She was a very talented artist with oils and copper enameling.Wilma was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton. She sang in the senior choir, The Live Wire Choir and enjoyed taking trips with the Forerunner ministry.She and Alvin were married for 54 years and have four children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
