Roberta Edna Banz entered the gates of Heaven on December 19, 2019.Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois on August 9, 1925 to Reginald and Clara Sheppard, she later attended Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois. She married Weldon Kenneth Banz in 1946 following his service in World War II and ultimately relocated to Dallas. She worked side-by-side with her husband in the family-owned insurance agency located in DeSoto, Texas for 50 years.She exemplified a Christ-centered life through service to family and church. She was gracious, loving and kind, having never met a stranger. Roberta was an ardent supporter of her familys activities as well as the Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks. In her later years she cultivated a new-found talent in painting.Roberta is preceded in death by husband, Weldon, daughter Cynthia, and son, Sidney, who passed just nine days before her.She is survived by several family members who will miss her so much, wife of Sidney, Kim; Philip and wife, Polly; Kathy and fianc, Eric; along with Bruce and wife, Angie.Additionally, she leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.Robertas life will be celebrated on January 4, 2020 at Richardson Church of the Nazarene in Richardson, Texas, at 4:00 pm.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
