Maria Ester Barela of Gainesville, Texas passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the age of 62.She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and beloved friend to many! She cared for so many. She was ready to listen, laugh and sit with coffee or a cigarette with whoever needed her time. Ester found joy and peace in helping others no matter the task; may it be painting your kitchen, decorating your home, or sharing resources she knew about. Our mom loved to create art, it could have been as simple as drawing art on our lunch bags or her intricate work quilting, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed working in her garden, she would tirelessly work the dirt, plant flowers, sort rocks and feed the birds and squirrels. She loved everything beautiful God, the sky, music, angels, smiles, dogs and even cars. Our mom had a contagious laughter and an empathetic soul, she influenced and inspired everyone in her path. She was a free spirit.Marialived life her on her terms. She was loved by many. She always said that her daughters were as follows:Arlene was her eyes -Emily was her heart -Theresa was her soul -To us, she was our everything. Her favorite flower were Irises. In Victorian definition they represent faith, wisdom, admiration, courage, and hope. The Greek goddess, Iris, escorted the deceased from earth to heaven.
