Amy passed away Sunday, August 31st at home. She was born December 26, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Rosemary Beckman. Raised in Dallas, Amy graduated from W. T. White High School before her lifelong love of art led her at age 33 to pursue a degree in studio art from the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU. Upon graduating, she honed her passion for ceramics through an internship with Totten Tile Works in Winlock, Washington, where she remained with the company for seven years. She returned to Dallas in 2004 where she continued her association with SMU, teaching occasionally and maintaining her passion and boundless inspiration for the art form she cherished. Amy
