Billie
Nicholson
November 7, 1928 – March 2, 2025
Billie Virginia Nicholson passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Sunday, March 02, 2025. She was simply Billie to some, Ms. Billie to others, but she was our MeMe.
Billie was born to Harold Marvin Chapman and Willie Mae Chapman on November 07, 1928 in Red Oak, TX. She was the sixth of seven siblings.
Billie was married to Louis Anthony (L. A.) Nicholson Jr. on November 10, 1946. They spent over 50 years of married bliss until his passing in 1998.
Billie was a long time member of Northway Church, and loved to attend the Bible study there in particular. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 61 years, where she served in many roles, including Worthy Matron, Secretary, and Treasurer. She was beloved by members of both groups.
Billie was also active in many charitable endeavors including the Texas Scottish Hospital for Children, the Farmers Branch Historical Park, and helping needy seniors in our community through Metrocrest Services. She was a devoted volunteer with the International Order of the Rainbow Girls, serving as Mother Advisor as well as a member of the advisory board for many years. Through this organization she made a lasting impression on many young women.
She was a friend to many who will never forget her generous spirit, gentle heart, and beautiful smile.
Billie was preceded in death by her father, Harold Marvin Chapman; mother, Willie Mae Chapman; six siblings, Norman Chapman, Ruth Peacock, Dale James, Louise Hitchcock, Dhoil Chapman, and Alvin Chapman; husband, Louis Anthony Nicholson Jr; daughter, Margie Phillips; son in law, Wayne Phillips; and her niece and lifelong friend Venita Thomas.
Billie is survived by her grandson Gary Phillips and his wife Christine Phillips: two great grandsons Ryan Phillips and Jason Phillips.
There was also a very special place in "MeMe's" heart for Jerry and Kalyn Worthy, and their children, William, Hannah, Kadan, Kameran, and Benjamin.
