Lonnie was born, at home, June 16, 1925 in Dallas TX to James M. and Clara Bernadette (La Frienier)Blaydes. Lonnie died peacefully February 1, 2013 surrounded by his family.He is survived by his daughter, Karen Blaydes Brantner and spouse Richard Brantner of Everett, PA; son, Lonnie Blaydes Jr. and spouse Kathleen (Farrell) Blaydes; grandchildren, Colleen Blaydes and spouse Joseph Inman, Patrick Blaydes and spouse Holly, and Colin Blaydes; great-grandchildren Shannon, Ciara, and Brandon Inman, all of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.When World War II started, Lonnie left school at 16 and enlisted in the US Marines, serving 30 months overseas in the Pacific Theater, including Solomon and Marshall Islands and Guadalcanal.
