Obituary

John Lyle Reeves Bowen passed away just one day short of his 90th birthday on November 13, 2015.He was a kind-hearted man with flawless character.He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Charley Davis III and Cheryl and R.L. Reeb. John was a dedicated grandfather to his seven grandchildren and their spouses: Tami and Scott Fenner, Lara and Mack Melancon, Julie Davis, Desiree and John McClung, Steven and Laura Kret, Deanna Davis, and Karen Davis as well as his great-grandchildren; Hailee, Presley, Carli, Scott, Parker, Victoria, Austin, Mason, Pryor Jo Lynn, Justin, Allison, Connor, Kyle and Claire.He was a Mason for more than fifty years at the A.F. & A.M. Community Lodge 1201. John had a passion for genealogy and was a gifted model ship builder and wood craftsman. John and his beloved, Jo, are reunited in heaven for all of eternity. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten.Visitation on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 8:30 to 10:00 am in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 following the visitation.Interment with military honors will follow the service at 12:30 pm at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.Please send the family condolences and share memories on this website.
