Obituary

Wallace Wayne Bradford, 81, of Arlington, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born on August 23, 1932, in San Angelo. Wayne spent his high school years in Devine, Texas, before going on to become a member of the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets. He graduated with a degree in dairy management in 1954 and was then stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, Texas. Wayne was a 1st Lt. and artillery instructor. Upon completing military service, he worked in the dairy industry and then started P&H Distributors in the 1960s. As an entrepreneur in the packaging industry, he ran P&H for more than 30 years. Wayne was an avid sailor and served as commodore of the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club in the 1980s. He was also a former member of the Bonehead Club of Dallas. Wayne is survived by his long-time companion Desiree Hurst and her daughter Ashley Hurst Russ and husband Kevin; his daughters Cindy Bradford Coleman and husband David; Christy Bradford Burr and husband Steven. He was known as Daddy Wayne to his grandchildren Bayly Burr Richardson and husband Gary; Caroline, Crockett, Bradford and Seiler Burr. Services will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 27, at 10:00 a.m. with military honors following at 12:30 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
