Marvin Richard Britton Sr. passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Prestonwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Plano TX, at the age of 72.Marvin was born on October 19th, 1946 in San Antonio TX to Emerald (Coker) Britton and Carl Britton. Shortly after attending Douglas MacArthur High School, Marvin chose to follow the career path of his Father (and other family members), by serving in the U.S. Army. Marvin loved being in the Armed Forces. He spent some time overseas in Germany, in the US, at Fort Hood, TX, Fort Shafter on the Island of Oahu, and Ft Leavenworth, KS. He completed almost 22 years of service and then retired while living in Ft. Leavenworth, in 1991, as a Sergeant First Class (E7) and returned to San Antonio, TX. Marvin truly enjoyed his hobbies over those years, especially working on clocks or watches, and coin collecting. After becoming ill in 2015, his family made the difficult decision to move him into a Nursing Facility in Plano, TX where he could be cared for.Marvin is survived by his children; Ronnette Davis Arnold (51), Marvin Richard Britton Jr. (48), Joanne Britton (46); Sisters: Katherine Browder, Carleen Schult and Charleen Portis; Nieces/Nephews: William Browder, Karen Browder, Jennifer Mills; and numerous cousins and extended familyThe family would like to thank Prestonwood Rehab for the love, care, and support he received while living there the last 3 years.
