On Wednesday, December 5, 2018 our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Gary Wayne Brooks, 67, went to be with his passed away and Savior.He was born in Kaufman Texas June 20, 1951 and lived in Grand Prairie, TX. He served 20 proud years in the U S Navy during the Viet Nam era and Desert Storm. He retired as a first-class master at arms. He served passionately as a Police Officer with the Grand Prairie Police Department where he worked as patrol officer from 1982 until 2008. He was on swat for a while and was a training officer. He retired mainly due to his health and then he worked 5 years on building the C.O.P program for the city of Grand Prairie. He loved his work with the city of Grand Prairie and the fellowship with his fellow officers. He also worked at Dallas Auto Auction for 20 years. He was a member of the Colonial Baptist church in Grand Prairie TX. He was also a master mason at the mountain creek lodge and the Thomas B. Hunter lodge.He is preceded in death bymother, Barbara J. Brooks; father, Leonard H. Brooks; brother, Ricky Brooks, step-brother, John L. Massey III; step-father, JohnL. Massey Jr.; and his son, Garry W. Brooks Jr.He is survived by his wife of 41 years Mary Brooks of Grand Prairie and ex-wife Elaine Suchanick of Millersburg PA. His children: Victoria Brooks, Veronica Brooks, Rosemary Douglas, Jack Douglas Jr., James Douglas. His grandkids: Janessa, Chandler, Nicholas, Khloe, Aralyn, Tori, Tyler, Lana, Kal-el, and Hunter. His great grandsons Damian and Zaedyn.
