Lorenzo Burns was born in Homer, Louisiana on September 12, 1941. He unexpectedly departed this life at the age of 71, on August 8, 2013. He was the only child from the blessed union of Effie Lee (Buggs) Burns and Robert Burns. He graduated from Homer High School and then went on to attend Grambling State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. He then went on to join the Army. Lorenzo served in the army for six years . After the army he went on to work for Daniel Investments, and then he later went to work for Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. He later left Blue Cross/Blue Shield and opened his own business, Burns and Associates which he ran for more than 25 years.
