Calvin Charles Ganzer was born in Blue Mound, Texas, on January 6, 1930, and passed away on June 7, 2024. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Caudill, and his sons, Alan Ganzer (Lora) and Russell Ganzer (Judy), his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his longtime companion, Katie Roberts. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minnie Ganzer, ten brothers and sisters, several nieces and nephews, and a great-granddaughter.

Calvin was a U.S. Marine veteran who served during the Korean War. He was trained as a communications specialist and was a sharpshooter. Additionally, he participated in the Marine color guard. After forty-seven years of dedicated service, he retired from Borden's.

Calvin was an avid hunter and fisherman and was very active in the local senior citizen center. He volunteered for many years at the annual Kid Fish program. Calvin's family enjoyed annual fish fries for over ten years, with fish he and Russell had caught.

A memorial service honoring Calvin will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:00 am at North Dallas Funeral Home in Famers Branch, Texas.
