It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Morgan Cornwell, 81, of The Colony, Texas. Carolyn passed away on Wednesday July 29, 2026, while visiting her late husband at Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton, Texas. She was celebrating what would have been their 59th wedding anniversary when the Lord called her home.

Carolyn was born on September 16, 1944, in Brownwood, Texas. She was the beloved child of Troy and Ruby Morgan. Throughout life, Carolyn was known for her unwavering dedication to her husband, family, friends, and community. She built a successful career as a Senior Mortgage Underwriting Specialist. She truly enjoyed leading and participating in any organized activity that involved her children, such as heading up Fund Raising events for the Carrollton Youth Football Association and organizing team events for the Newman Smith Football team. She touched the lives of many through her compassion and very determined west Texas spirit.

Carolyn is survived by her three children Yvonne D. Ulshafer and her husband Dale Ulshafer of The Colony, Texas, Lawrence D. Cornwell, Jr. and his wife Penni Cornwell of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Jeffrey P. “Boomer” Cornwell and his spouse Jennifer Cornwell of McKinney, Texas; her grandchildren Cory Ulshafer, Carson Ulshafer, Austin Cornwell, Tyler Cornwell ,and Caden “Knox” Cornwell, as well as several extended family members and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Troy and Ruby Morgan; her brother Bob Morgan, her brother Bill Morgan, and her beloved husband Lawrence D. Cornwell, Sr.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation service on Friday August 7, 2026 at 6:00pm CST, held at North Dallas Funeral Home located at 2710 Valley View Lane; Farmers Branch, Texas, 75234. The funeral will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026 at 10:30am CST at the same location. A burial will follow at Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton.

Though Carolyn is no longer with us, we are at peace and rejoice in knowing that she is in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We celebrate that she is once again reunited with the love of her life and our father, Larry, as well as her parents, siblings, and her beloved aunt Pearl.

We will miss you every day that we are here without you. We love you forever, mom.
