Gary Lynn (Sonny) Compton passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 23, 2011 at the age of 73. Gary was born October 3, 1938 in Hunt County, Texas. Gary is survived by Elaine Compton, his wife of 33 years; his three children, Tracey Bunce, Paige Whiteside and Joseph Compton; his sister, Oleta Bailey; many nieces and nephews; and his two granddaughters, Marissa and Christa Bunce. Gary graduated from Forney High School in 1956, attended Texas A&M University on a football scholarship, and ultimately graduated from Texas Tech University in 1963 with a degree in business. Gary worked in the business world as a salesman, a marketing director, sales manager at Home Craftsman, and spent many years in real estate.
