Orson R. Cummings (Ray) went to be with his Savior surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 8, 2015. He was born August 26, 1939 in Pembroke, NC to Lacy and Zenobia Cummings.Ray is predeceased by his youngest daughter Aimee Lisette Cummings Stein, his Mother and Father, his sister Loretta and her husband Rae Padgett, his brother Vern Cummings, his nephew Alan Peacock, his brother-in-law Glynn Peacock and James (Jimmy) Peacock.He is survived by his wife of 50 years Joan Louise Searles Cummings, his daughter Danielle Cummings Bradford and Son-in-law Jeremy Bradford, Son-in-law Jason Stein and four granddaughters, Hayden and Hadley Bradford and Chloe and Lainey Stein.Ray attended Electronics Institute in Michigan before joining the Army in 1960. After a tour in South Korea Ray and Joan married and resided in Michigan for a year. They spent 13 years in Northern VA where both Danielle and Aimee were born. Ray was a field engineer in Medical Electronics his entire career. Picker Corporation moved the family to Texas where they settled in Richardson and became members of First Baptist Church of Richardson, sang in the Celebration Choir, the Goldennaires Choir, and the Men's Chorus. He and Joan traveled with the Celebration Choir and Orchestra to Germany, Austria, and Latvia as well as completed missionary work with his Adult Bible Study couples class. He loved God, his family and spending quality time with his granddaughters. He lived a good life and fought the hard fight until his last breath.
