David Stephen
Fulton
July 20, 1948 – June 21, 2024
David Stephen Fulton, fondly known as Steve, entered life on July 20, 1948, in Grand Prairie, Texas, and entered eternal holy rest on June 21, 2024.
Steve was the beloved son of David and June Fulton. He spent his formative years on Oak Street, sharing life with his sister Janice and brothers Brent, Robert, and Sean. After high school, Steve proudly served his country in the Navy, an experience that shaped his character and broadened his horizons.
Upon returning from service, Steve embarked on a diverse and adventurous career path. From driving ambulances, professional bass fishing to farm work, insurance, and title work, he explored various fields before finding his true calling in commercial real estate. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to the oil, gas, and minerals industry, where he achieved significant success. Steve was known as a creative thinker and a confident businessman, always seeing opportunities where others did not.
Steve's vibrant personality extended beyond his professional life. He was a man who truly embraced life and never shied away from fun. His love for the outdoors was infectious, and whether he was fishing, hunting, or playing golf, Steve's enthusiasm was boundless. He cherished sharing these passions with others, always ensuring that everyone around him was having just as much fun as he was. He especially loved nights out dancing to Texas blues music and never heard a guitar solo that didn't need to be turned up just a little louder.
As a father, Steve was unparalleled in his dedication and generosity. His sons, David Jerett Fulton and Mark Bradley Fulton, were the center of his world. He was a supportive and encouraging mentor, always putting his family first. Steve was not just a father but also a coach and cheerleader, passionately supporting his sons' interests and activities. Whether coaching baseball and football teams or cheering loudly at concerts, Steve's presence was a source of strength and encouragement.
As a husband, Steve found the true love of his life with Sheilagh. They lived a full life of ups and downs together, sharing over 45 years of marriage until she lost her battle with Parkinson's in 2018. Steve's devotion to Sheilagh was unwavering, and their love endured all challenges.
Steve is survived by his loving son, David Jerett Fulton, who cared for him day and night over his six years of bed rest. Steve is also survived by a large and loving group of friends and family who will always remember his love for them.
Steve's legacy of love, joy, and boundless enthusiasm for life will continue to inspire those who knew him. Steve will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will be cherished forever. His memory will truly be a blessing.
His son David wants to thank all the care team professionals who helped along the way, especially Peaches Holmes.
