David Lewis
Pollard
October 9, 1957 – September 19, 2025
David Lewis Pollard entered eternal rest peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 19, 2025. Born to G.W. ("Dub") and Maurine Cox Pollard in Farmers Branch, Texas, David lived a life rich in love, family, and athletic achievement.
A proud graduate of R.L. Turner High School, David continued his education and collegiate baseball career at Paris Junior College and Dallas Baptist University. He then earned degrees in Business and Real Estate from the University of North Texas.
David briefly served with the Farmers Branch Fire Department before becoming a Master Firefighter and Paramedic with the Town of Addison. His life was defined by service and compassion—he never met a stranger, always had a story to share, a laugh to offer, and a kind word for those in need.
David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Carole Bassett Pollard; his son-in-law, Mitch Wright; and his cherished grandson, Dylan. He also leaves behind his sister, Judy, and her husband, Paul Drewry of Tyler, TX; niece Julie (John) Westberry; several great-nieces and nephews; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Heather; his parents, Dub and Maurine Pollard; and his brothers, Tommy and Donny Pollard—who surely welcomed him in Heaven with a grand reunion.
A celebration of David's life will be held on September 25th at 12:30 PM at The First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch, with a reception to follow.
David will be remembered by many as "that guy who always made us laugh," and by countless others as "that guy who helped me out." His joyful spirit, sense of humor, and compassionate nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in David's name to the Salvation Army Dallas Shelter and Services - Carr P. Collins Social Services Center, or to Autism Speaks.
